L’Organizzazione dei paesi esportatori di petrolio (OPEC) e i produttori di petrolio alleati, guidati dalla Russia, hanno deciso di prolungare i tagli record alla produzione di petrolio fino alla fine di luglio, ha confermato Aleksandr Novak, ministro russo dell’Energia.
“OPEC + ha deciso di mantenere tagli alla produzione di petrolio di 9,7 milioni di barili al giorno per luglio”, ha annunciato Novak in seguito alla riunione online dei 13 membri dell’alleanza petrolifera e 10 stati non OPEC. I termini dell’accordo precedente concordato dopo settimane di negoziati in aprile sono rimasti invariati.
Una delle ragioni del prolungamento dell’accordo è stata l’eccessiva riserva di petrolio, nonostante si prevedano carenze di approvvigionamento nel prossimo futuro, ha sottolineato il ministro.
Durante l’incontro online dei maggiori operatori del mercato petrolifero, è stato anche deciso che l’Arabia Saudita, gli Emirati Arabi Uniti, il Kuwait e l’Oman ridurranno ulteriormente la produzione di petrolio a luglio di 1,2 milioni di barili al giorno, ha affermato il ministero dell’Azerbaigian. A paesi come l’Iraq e la Nigeria, che hanno superato le quote di produzione a maggio e giugno, è stato chiesto di compensare introducendo tagli extra tra luglio e settembre.
