Giornalista, scrittore, Giulietto Chiesa, era nato il 4 settembre 1940 ad Acqui Terme e fu a lungo corrispondente da Mosca prima per l’Unità e poi per La Stampa, oltre che inviato per il Tg5, il Tg1 e il Tg3. In decine di libri ha raccontato la Perestroika di Gorbaciov, di cui divenne amico personale, quindi i grandi sconvolgimenti della guerra e la globalizzazione.
Ma nel suo percorso di vita un ruolo importante lo ebbe anche la politica.
Fu dirigente del Pci e nel 2004 venne anche eletto al parlamento europeo.
Negli ultimi anni il suo impegno era andato anche oltre la politica. Lo scorso dicembre a Fermo ha tenuto un lungo incontro per parlare dell’informazione, della politica, della crisi economica ed energetica mondiale, del rischio di un nuovo conflitto mondiale, della necessità di approfondire argomenti andando oltre la “versione ufficiale”.
Giulietto se ne è andato il giorno dopo la Festa della Liberazione. Anche per essa ha combattuto in questi anni con il suo essere “controcorrente” ed è così che lo vogliamo ricordare.
