Un altro terribile incendio devasta il nostro paese. Dopo i numerosi incendi scoppiati negli ultimi giorni in varie parti del Lazio, ora tocca a Tivoli, dove l’aria dal 12 agosto è diventata irrespirabile e il cielo si è tinto di un inquietante color rosso. L’area più colpita dalle fiamme, secondo quanto riporta il Comune di Tivoli, è quella che va dalla riserva di monte Catillo sino alla zona del quartiere del bivio di San Polo.
Per ora, l’area distrutta all’interno della riserva risulta di circa cinque chilometri quadrati, ma si tratta solo di prime stime. Distrutti anche manufatti e case di campagna.
Vigili del fuoco e volontari della protezione civile tentano da giorni di spegnere le fiamme che, nella notte di venerdì, si sono avvicinate al centro abitato. Sono stati quindi evacuati il villaggio don Bosco e 25 famiglie residenti in 4 palazzine.
Il FAI, che ha pubblicato un post su facebook dicendo addio alla riserva naturale di Monte Catillo, dichiara che il fenomeno degli incendi “mai come quest’anno è davvero legato a condizioni climatiche eccezionali, una per tutte il record europeo di temperatura massima di 48.8 gradi centigradi registrati in Sicilia a Siracusa.”
Tuttavia, se è il riscaldamento globale a creare le condizioni, i roghi raramente sono causati dall’autocombustione, specifica il FAI. Spesso la causa è l’uomo. Sia per negligenza, magari un mozzicone lanciato tra le foglie secche, sia per motivi dolosi. Legambiente Lazio ha lanciato un appello sul proprio profilo facebook, chiedendo un “ferragosto senza brace perché sulla graticola ci siamo noi!“. Invitando tutti i cittadini ad evitare fuochi e barbecue in questi giorni così caldi, soprattutto nelle zone verdi, nei boschi e nei parchi. Appello esteso anche ai Comuni e alla Regione affinché rafforzino i controlli.
Dal 2 agosto il Lazio, come tante altre regioni italiane, ha registrato un numero preoccupante di incendi, circa 600, di origine prevalentemente dolosa. Gli incendi sono stati gestiti “dalla sala operativa regionale, coordinata nella campagna antincendio boschivo, dall’Agenzia Regionale di Protezione civile alla presenza del Corpo Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco, Carabinieri forestali e Protezione Civile di Roma Capitale” e hanno richiesto, in 10 giorni, ben “320 ore di volo degli elicotteri regionali e circa 1.200 interventi del volontariato di protezione civile specializzato nell’attività antincendio.”
Vista la gravità della situazione, Nicola Zingaretti, presidente della Regione Lazio, ha deciso di firmare “la dichiarazione dello stato di calamità naturale sull’intero territorio regionale, fino al 30 settembre“, come riporta la pagina Fb della Regione Lazio.
