Secondo le stime tale quantità di stupefacente sarebbe stata sufficiente per circa 11 milioni di dosi singole. Gli spacciatori avevano l’intenzione di trasportare il carico dai paesi della Mezzaluna d’oro nell’UE attraverso l’Unione economica eurasiatica. “Sono state soppresse le attività di un gruppo criminale internazionale, i membri del quale avevano l’intenzione di contrabbandare l’eroina in lotti da 200 chili nei Paesi Bassi. Tuttavia, la scoperta dello schema logistico ha permesso di sventare già le prime quattro consegne”, si legge nel comunicato del Servizio. Per sgominarli le forze di sicurezza russe hanno proposto ai colleghi europei di organizzare operazioni congiunte, ma “l’adozione della decisione pertinente da parte dei partner è stata ritardata fino all’impossibilità di proseguire con il lavoro”.
